Meet Lindsay (Founder/Learning Coach)

Lindsay Snea is the founder and learning coach behind Rocky Mountain Learning Collective. She earned her Bachelor of Education through the University of Victoria in 2020 and spent four years working in public education before taking a different path.

Throughout her time in education, Lindsay became increasingly interested in what learning could look like with smaller groups, greater flexibility, and more time to truly know each student. She saw how easily children could become discouraged when expected to learn the same things, in the same way, and at the same pace—and how differently they responded when given more ownership, individual support, and opportunities to explore things that genuinely interested them.

Those experiences eventually led Lindsay to create Rocky Mountain Learning Collective. Her approach is built around the belief that children are naturally curious and capable learners. She values self-directed and self-paced learning, strong relationships, critical thinking, meaningful discussion, creativity, and learning through real-world experiences. She believes students should be encouraged to ask questions, consider different perspectives, challenge themselves, make mistakes, and gradually take greater responsibility for their own education.

For Lindsay, education is also about much more than academics. She wants young people to leave RMLC knowing how to think for themselves, communicate, solve problems, work hard, understand their strengths, and have the confidence to create a life that is meaningful to them.

Lindsay lives in Fernie, BC with her husband, four kids, and cat. Outside of RMLC, she loves being outdoors, reading, cooking, snowboarding, music, playing guitar, horses, fitness, Spartan racing, challenging herself—and, perhaps most importantly, thinking outside the box.
