Meet Lindsay (Founder/Learning Coach)

Lindsay Snea, the founder of Rocky Mountain Learning Collective, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the realm of education. In 2020, Lindsay earned her Bachelor of Education degree through the University of Victoria. She then spent four years in public education, witnessing firsthand the shortcomings of the traditional system. Lindsay observed endless students slip through the cracks of the conveyor belt system, pushed through despite huge learning gaps, that caused a lack of motivation for learning as students progressed up in grade level. She witnessed daily, the challenge of accommodating students at different levels within the same educational framework. Lindsay recognized the stifling of creativity in both children and educators, and the absence of encouragement for questioning and critical thinking.

Motivated by the conviction that there had to be a better way, Lindsay founded Rocky Mountain Learning Collective. Drawing inspiration from the untapped potential of technology in education, she saw an opportunity to revolutionize learning and recognized it as the way of the future. Lindsay observed the dissatisfaction of parents with the current state of public education and identified a gap beyond homeschooling. Rocky Mountain Learning Collective emerged as part of an educational movement, dedicated to providing children with the best possible education through self-directed and self-paced learning. Lindsay envisions a future where this innovative approach transforms the way children learn, creating a more engaged, motivated, and intellectually curious generation.

Lindsay lives in Fernie, BC with her husband, four kids, and dog. She loves the outdoors, challenging herself, Spartan racing, music, cooking, reading, fitness, and thinking outside of the box.
